“Family is at the forefront of all that we do and all that we are”
A History,
and A Family
Our Background
Barton Heights is one of three residential parks owned by Barbara Trimmings and her daughters, Julie and Christina. Together with the late Tony Trimmings, they have carefully and thoughtfully planned each development paying attention to the smallest details, and ensuring the highest standards possible. With over 45 years experience, the Trimmings’ family have gained national recognition from all the leading park home manufacturers for the quality of their developments and custodianship. Starting in 1980 with Warren park in Surrey, the 8 acre park situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, backing on to the nature reserve, was transformed from a previous pub/caravan site where Canadian soldiers were based during the Second World War, to a high quality residential park home estate of 40 twin homes. Then in 1986 the family acquired Northfield Farm in Portchester, and developed it to provide a unique park home living experience. Fifty-seven homes each with their own garage, driveway and gardens situated in peaceful surroundings with panoramic views, now known as Northfield Park. In 1997, a small development, adjacent to Northfield Park, was established for 14 residential park homes. The expansion took the name of Barbara’s mother Eleanor and as such became known as Eleanor’s Wood.
In 2022 Barton Heights was given the go ahead; 2 acres to sit alongside both Northfield Park and Eleanor’s Wood. The namesake was immediate and given to Barbara and her late husband Tony, who always enjoyed the view across the Solent from where the park now sits. The park is a labour of love, life, family and vision. The care and attention to create something unique and special to give to residents is evident throughout every aspect of its development.
For memories made and for those yet to come.
The symbol of the Robin
"When robins appear, loved ones are near."
One of Britain’s most beloved birds, the robin has become a symbol woven into our folklore, literature and personal lives.
Anthony Trimmings, beloved husband to Barbara and devoted father to Julie, Maria, and Christina, passed away in 2020 after a short illness. To those who knew Tony, he was an unforgettable gentle-man. A rare, happy and generous soul, he was truly one of a kind.
Although Tony’s early years were tough, he was equally determined to carve out a brighter future beyond the estate where he grew up. Together with Barbara, they built a successful business portfolio in both the Surrey and Hampshire regions.
One of those ventures, alongside the residential parks, is Portchester Memorial Gardens, where Tony rests today. Not long after his interment, and always at the most opportune of times, a red robin will appear, following family members and his grandchildren around the grounds. More often than not, it can be found perched on Tony’s grave!
The Barton Heights icon was inspired by this touching symbol.
The title ‘Barton’ is taken from the letters of Barbara and Tony’s names. In the letter ‘B’, you will see both B&T intertwined. The robin sits quietly on the letter ’t’.
